Sepura TETRA digital radios have been supplied to Crown Macau Hotel and Casino, one of the world’s most lavish casinos, built at a cost of $584 million.
Known as the ‘Asian Las Vegas’, Macau attracts 20 million visitors a year, which are mostly the rich from China where gambling is not permitted. Macau is a special administrative region on China’s southern coast.
The contract for Sepura radios was secured by Shun Hing Systems Integration, to supply SRH3500 Hand-held and SRM3500 Mobile radios for vehicles, operating on an Artevea TETRA infrastructure.
The radios help communication by staff in the luxurious hotel and casino, and involve security, housekeeping and front desk duties. Talk groups and data messaging assist in improving operational efficiency, to the benefit of customers and to ensure a rapid response to any emergency.
Jimmy Wang, Chairman and CEO of Shun Hing Group, said: “This prestigious contract was won because of the quality and performance of the radios and the pre and post sales Customer Support. What appealed to the customer was that the radios are simple to operate, lightweight and provide a range of beneficial functions.”
Kevin Graham, Sepura’s Regional Director for Asia, said: “This sales win breaks new
ground for Sepura as it’s our first contract win for a casino. It took a strong working relationship with Shun Hing to win this order.”
