Following extensive user evaluation of TETRA portable terminals
now available on the mmo2 Airwave network, Greater Manchester
Police has selected Sepura's SRP2000 handportable. This makes GMP
the largest user on the UK national public safety system. They also
have a significant quantity of Sepura's earlier TETRA product the
SRP1000.
The repeat order came after GMP carried out operational efficiency
evaluations of all the TETRA handportables available from all the
major manufacturers. The SRP2000, which was specifically designed
to meet the needs of public safety users, won due to a combination
of ease of use, its highly flexible user focused software and the
range of accessories available for conventional and covert
use.
Superintendent Terry Sweeney, Airwave Project Director for Greater
Manchester Police said, "We had no hesitation in the selection of
the SRP2000. The enhanced software features and flexibility of the
SRP2000 handportable made Sepura terminals the most suitable
operational choice. Sepura has consistently provided excellent
customer support during the Airwave network roll out and continues
to supply first class customer service well beyond the contracted
level".
David Taylor, Sales Director of Sepura commented, "Greater
Manchester Police is one of our earliest TETRA customers utilising
the mmo2 Airwave network. We have over the last 2 years built up a
first class relationship both with Greater Manchester Police and
their Managed Service Provider, Securicor Information Systems,
which we believed has enhanced our understanding of the UK police
forces exacting radio requirements."
